November Events

We had a great meeting last week. We had six successful rocket launches- thank you Stephanie! The rockets were launched at night, so we painted them with glow stick, and we were able to find all of them. We also had a two Diet Coke and Mentos geysers go about 10 feet in the air. Awesome!

Important dates coming up:
  • November 6th. 9am-12pm JoAnn Fabric @ 104th and I-25 Free sewing class. This class will discuss available sewing projects through 4-H and how to choose and read a pattern. Bring a pattern and fabric, or find some for purchase. Please RSVP with Kinza. vburney@cityofwestminster.us 720-327-5596.

  • November 11th @6:30 pm Good New Church- Project meeting. Cake decorating. If you want to take the cake decorating class with Stephanie, bring a baked, unfrosted cake of your choice. If you are interested in decorating cookies and cupcakes with Kinza- bring a bag of candy, sprinkles or leftover Halloween candy to share. We'll use it all for decorating. Feel free to invite a friend!

  • There is no second meeting in November as our second meeting falls on Thanksgiving. Let me know what topics you would like to explore in December.

  • 2011 Stock Show is coming in January. Stay posted for updates on group tickets and events.

Oct 28th meeting

Join us on Thursday, October 28th at 6:30 for fun with rockets, planes, gliders and all things that fly. We will be creating some crazy experiments of our own with alka-seltzer, mentos, diet coke for some truely fantastic explosions.

If you have rockets, paper airplanes or flying toys, bring them to launch! Feel free to bring some friends to join the fun.

We will be starting flights right at 6:30 to take advantage of any daylight we may have left.

If you are thinking of volunteering as a project leader, please mark your calendar for Wednesday, November 10th at the Adams County Fairgrounds 5:30-8:30 for the Leader Chili Supper and 2010-2011 Leaders meeting.

Congratulations to Good News Members, Amy Tanklefsky and Madison Burney. They will be attending Colorado Leadership Camp in Glenwood Springs in mid November. If you will be a 6th- 9th grader next year, remember this awesome opportunity and get involved.

A big thank you to new project leader Stephanie Toms. Stephanie is a talented baker and cake decorator. She will be leading the November 11th meeting on cookie and cake decorating. Come hungry! Remember, this will be our only formal meeting in November.
