More information for the meeting tomorrow:
The food books are in! Please remind me so you can get one if you put in an order.
Cake decorating tomorrow. Yummy!
I will have some tiles tomorrow of you would like to get a head start on tile skills. I also have two ceramic frogs for any member that missed the previous ceramics meeting.
I will be bringing soaked lima beans for gardening kids (and whomever) to cut open and investigate. This is one of the projects in the gardeing manual, level 1.
Please don't forget to bring candies, decorations, etc for your cakes if you are interested.
So, we should have about 3 stations set up- cakes, ceramics and gardening. Please feel free to bring you own project to work on too.

tonight!
HI Guys, It seems we are all super busy with end of school, various graduations, Holiday weekend and vacation time :0)
Soooo.... Lets table the Bass Pro Shops for another day and reschedule.
Meet at the church next Thursday- May 31st for cake decorating and filling out goal sheets in your record book. We will provide frosted cupcakes to practice on, or you are welcome to bring a crumb frosted cake to decorate. We will also bring cake tips, frosting bags and frosting. If each family could bring a bag of candy, teddy grahams, sprinkles, or other edibles to use for decorating, that would be wonderful! Cloverbuds and guests are welcome to come! We will have extra cupcakes.
You are also welcome to bring one of your own projects to work on, or to get help with.
Thursday- June 7th
6:30 We will be bringing supplies for the ceramics kids to do a tile skill out of their workbook (and extra tiles for those that want to decorate one). We will also be bringing supplies for an excercise out of the level A gardening book- updates later on which one :0). This would also be a good meeting to bake a batch of practice food for your fair entry (bring your own supplies). We will help with photos and getting record books done. Cloverbuds and guests welcome! We will have plenty of activities for everyone.
*** For those doing canning this year
Blueberries are on major sale at several stores, including Sprouts and Sunflower markets. Strawberries will be in season very shortly as well. Watch sales and start thinking about recipes. Remember, many pickeld items take time to pickle. Do not wait until last minute for these.
***Our dehydrator is in! We have a nice Nesco dehydrator with trays for jerky, herbs and all other fruits and veggies. We also have a jerky gun and some seasoning. Get with Kinza if you need this for fair projects.

4-H meetings
Hey Everybody,
Our next meeting will be at O'Tooles Garden Center this Thursday at 9400 Wadsworth Bl. Please meet in front of O'Tooles at 6:30. We will tour the garden center and talk to an employee about different jobs available at the garden center. This meeting will correlate with one of the required activities in the Level 1 gardening book. Those members enrolled in gardening will receive their books before the tour so they can complete the activity. If you are not enrolled in the gardening project, but would still like to grow something, there is an open flower and veggie show at fair. It is free and does not require pre-entry. On the day of the show, you just have the kids bring their stuff up and stick it in the show. Way fun! So pick out some flowers and veggies and pop them in the ground.
Speaking of books, I have most of the ordered books in. The foods books are backordered at this time and we have an unknown delivery date. I will have fired ceramics for those that gave me their completed pieces at the last meeting. If you still have completed pieces, I can take them from you on Thursday and I will get them fired.
Everyone should be registered with the county, if you want to participate in fair this year in 4-H. If you would like to try your hand at a project, you can still enter the open show. This does not require a record book or 4-H enrollment.
We will be changing up the schedule a little for summer. New members and guests are always welcome, but some meetings will be more exciting for them than others.
We will try to meet most Thursdays, except for Holiday weeks. We will have one fun "Explore" meeting per month and the other days will be working on record books and independent projects. I know everyone has a crazy, busy summer. Please just make the meetings that are helpful to you and don't worry about making it to all of them.
May 10th O'Tooles Garden Center- tour and career talk
May 17th Summer project prep meeting. I will have a folder for each child with their enrolled fair projects detailed. I will also bring cookbooks and patterns so they can get an idea of what they may want to work on. I will also be handing out required record books so you can get started on them. If you can't make this meeting, please schedule a time to get with me, so I can get you your required materials.
May 24th-Bass Pro Shops Tour @ Northfield Stapleton 6:00 (let me know if this will not work) This is the last day/ week of school for many of our kids. If this is a bad date, we can change it to June. We will be talking about shooting sports, fishing, camping and hiking. Bass Pro Shops is SUPER COOL if you have not been. There are many mounted wild animal specimens and a trout tank.
