Feb 21st Meeting

Hello Everyone,
We will be meeting tomorrow and our topic will be gardening. 6:30 at 5511 W. 136th Ave
We will be looking at planning a garden, cool weather and warm weather crops, companion planting and actually planting some seeds.  We will be providing some peat pots, seeds and soil.  Please bring a special pot or container if you would like to plant it with something, otherwise, you are welcome to supplies provided. 

If weather is really nasty- we will cancel the meeting.  IF WE CANCEL- I will have an email out by 3pm.

February Information

Hi Everyone,
Just a reminder about the meeting this Thursday, February 7th, @6:30 at Good News Church -5511 W. 136th Avenue.  We have a great line up of quilters, spinners, knitters and scrap bookers.  Please come by and see out great Heritage Arts showcase. I will have information on each Heritage Arts 4-H project if you are interested in taking the projects further, otherwise- come and have fun!  If you would like to work on a scrap page (parents too) please bring a couple photos to work with.  We will provide supplies. We will have a Creative Memories consultant there to speak to also. PLEASE feel free to bring or invite guests as this is a great meeting for hands on fun!

I did not make it to shooting sports last night due to fun filled case of pink eye :0(  However, we do plan on attending the next one, as well as the shooting 101 class.

The Colorado Home and Garden Show begins this weekend. This is a great opportunity to see some exciting garden ideas and attend some lectures on gardening. http://www.gardeningcolorado.com/garden/colorado-garden-home-show This Sat and Sunday, there is also a crazy cool cake show taking place at the Home and Garden Show, and it is included in admission.  More information can be found here: http://www.coices.org/denvercakeshow.html  If you go, please take pictures.  The pictures can be used in your record books later, for cake/cupcake decorating or for gardening. 

Reminder-
Feb 12th/ 26th- Robotics Meeting    7-8:30 @ AdCo Fairgrounds
Feb 16th at 9am-12pm: Shooting Sports 101 (archery included) will be held at the AdCo Fairgrounds- no charge

At the same time, there will be a Sewing workshop, also at the Fairgrounds- no charge as well.  Kids should bring a pattern and their fabric.  Pins, scissors and an iron are helpful.  Helpers will show kids how to read, pin and cut out a pattern.  If your sewing project is beyond this stage, bring your machine and project to work on with guided assistance.  If you need help selecting a pattern, get with me.  Kids do not have to enter a sewing project in fair, to attend the workshop. Any sewing item is fine: clothing, pillows, stuffed animals, etc.  Parents may stay or drop off.

I will be attending the shooting workshop, while the kids are in the sewing workshop. Other parents are welcome to do the same.

Feb 23rd: 8:30 in the Dome @ AdCo Fairgrounds - Creative Cooks Contest  if you have not received an entry form in the mail, please get one from me at the Thursday meeting.  Entries are due by Feb 15th
                           1pm-4pm  Cat Project Day @Red Cross Building AdCo Fairgrounds - learn all about cats, cat showmanship and cat requirements for Fair.

There are lots of horse workshops, demos and shows  in February and a swine seminar on Feb 11th  - let me know if you would like more information.
